Events Summer 2019!

Writer: JustinJustin

Updated: Apr 9, 2020

I'm excited to announce I've got THREE events in the works for this summer in Portland, OR! The first one is quickly approaching, so let's get right to it:

OLD GROWTH/NEW MONEY/NEW GROWTH/OLD MONEY

is a soundwalk also featuring intermittent music & dance performances

OR

a performancewalk also featuring non-intentional sounds of the environment. The performance space is the big trees and winding streets of the Laurelhurst neighborhood.

After doing my first soundwalk last year, I knew I wanted to do a soundwalk that also had intentional performative aspects and I am lucky to have my fearless collaborators Rebecca Olason and Matt Cichon joining me.

Sunday June 9, 2019 12:00 start

Meet at Laurelhurst Park by the bathrooms. Walk is 2.5 miles over mostly paved surfaces.

$5-15 suggested donation. More info at the Facebook event page!

Concept Pieces

Inspired by a group of text-based pieces by the same name, this event will feature many different types of conceptual work by myself as well as Yoko Ono and George Brecht. Part of the event consists of performances that you witness like music & dance, and part of the event consists of your own interactions with installations set up throughout the space. Events that stretch beyond one artistic discipline continue to excite me and this one promises to be a very unique experience. And I'm eager to share this much of my recent work with you all at once!

Saturday July 13, 2019

Doors 6:30 / Event 7:00

The Annex at Taborspace

5441 SE Belmont St.

We have a page at Brown Paper Tickets to not only sell tickets but also to accept contributions to our event fund. We're looking to raise about $700 to make this happen, so your contribution goes a long way! Rebecca and Matt join me on this event as well. They are the best.

The third event of the summer is not ready for its full announcement yet but...Save the Date: Saturday August 24!

Hope you are excited to see these events come to life. Share with your family and friends! Tell strangers in the street! And stay tuned for more developments as they continue to take shape. Looking forward to a summer of creativity.

Thank you for your support!
